On Kuhio Hwy just as you pass Kalihiwai Bay, is the road to Anini Beach Park. To find it, take Kalihiwai Road toward the ocean about a half mile after you cross over the Kalihiwai Stream. A quarter mile down this road youíll see the sign to Anini Beach advising you to veer left.
If you can resist the temptation to stop at all the appealing sites along the way youíll reach Anini Beach Park after another mile and a half. You canít miss this beautiful, easily accessible park, with a large grassy area embracing the Pacific Ocean. Amenities include picnic tables, restrooms, showers, and barbeque grills.
It has a protected swimming lagoon due to an extensive off shore reef formation. Itís usually calm when waves are too big or conditions are rough elsewhere. Anini Beach is a popular spot for a snorkel trip when conditions cooperate. If itís a little too windy you might take advantage of a windsurf lesson. On the west end of the Beach Park is the treasured Anini Beach, a more secluded section that is usually deserted.
