Hanalei Beach Park is a premiere beach location nestled in the center of Hanalei Bay on Kauai's north shore. It is where many top surfers migrate when the winter waves are at their best. The scenery here offers views of waterfalls cascading down the cliff faces. There is a grassy camping and picnic area to enjoy. This beach park shares the bay with Black Pot Beach Park and Waioli Beach Park.
Black Pot Beach Park is a small section of Hanalei Beach, positioned on the south end near the Hanalei Bay river mouth, close to the Hanalei Pier. This beach is a favorite among locals; you can park right on the beach! It can get crowded on weekends so plan to arrive as early as possible. It is a great place for beginning surfers. There are concession stands with surf rentals.
Waioli Beach Park is located in the center of Hanalei Bay Beach. Waioli Beach Park also provides a large grassy area against golden sun bleached sand. Located here is the surf spot called “Pine Trees”, named for the ironwoods that line the beach. Let the hot up and coming surfers amaze you with their skills when the waves are firing. Beginners can try their luck with a surfing lesson down towards the Hanalei Pier.
