Locally referred to as PK’s, this small section of Prince Kuhio Beach is located just off of Lawai Road, west of Prince Kuhio Park. It is right next to Boss Frog’s. It is literally right next to the road so it’s not much of a beach for sunbathing, as sometimes there's no sand.
However, Prince Kuhio Beach is a great spot for snorkeling when the water is calm. You’ll find lots of coral, reef fish, sea turtles, or “honu”, and if you're lucky, a monk seal may even visit you. Monk seals are known to frequent Kauai’s south shore beaches to bathe in the sun. When the waves are high, this spot becomes a favorite for the local surfers.
The best place to hang out is the Beach House lawn closer to Lawai beach. Lawa'i Beach is right next to Prince Kuhio Beach and they are often mistaken as the same. It is also a great spot for snorkeling. The grassy bank by the restaurant makes a fine spot for watching surfers and sunsets so this place can get crowded.
