Just over a half mile south of Kam 3 is Keawakapu Beach, a favorite beach for visitors and locals. It is located near the end of South Kihei Road, at the beginning of Wailea. You’ll find a gravel parking lot on the beach side of the road just after you pass the sign for the Five Palms Restaurant if you’re heading south.
Overflow parking, which is rarely needed as there is usually ample parking, is across the street. Keawakapu Beach is an ideal example of glistening soft sand that extends along beautiful scenic coastline. The beach is very user-friendly with water that is calm and crystal clear. If there are waves they are usually gentle. It is a great beach for kids and the whole family. During the winter months, locals come here to listen to whale songs underwater.
Kayaking and stand-up paddling are excellent here with so much to see. To the north of the beach are some reef formations in 5 to 10 feet of water. You’ll find the best snorkeling right in front of the Mana Kai Resort. Keawakapu Beach has some of the best views of Kaho'olawe, Molokini, and Lana’i. And with smooth, clear and warm water, it’s no wonder this beach is an island favorite.
